SONHO (dream in portuguese) is the last music video of the brazilian musician Nego Bala. Born and raised in Boca do Lixo, one of the most stigmatized neighborhoods of Downtown São Paulo, Nego, dreamed about being an MC and a poet and found a way out of the youth detention center. During his hard times, he also found solace in literature and philosophy.
SONHO is about the importance of imagining and visualizing the future you want to live in order to actually live it. To do so, SONHO draws a parallel between Bala’s personal beliefs and Plato’s World of Ideas to create The World of Dreams, a place where all the things happen first. And also a space that Nego Bala thinks should be occupied by everybody, especially by the youngsters of the most stigmatized neighborhoods.
